| Abstract [eng] |
This final master’s work analyses the regulation of the fine penalty in Lithuania and its amendments. The practice of imposing fines for the period 2010 – 2020 is presented on the basis of the activity reports of the Lithuanian courts. The practice of determining the amount of the fine is presented on the basis of the results of criminal investigations. Different mechanisms for calculating the penalty are being investigated in criminal law in the Member States of the European Union. One of them is the model for calculating day fines, due to the direct link to the individual’s solvency. The positive and negative practices of the countries in this model are presented. Questions on how this model could be applied in Lithuania are answered to make the fine more effective. |
