Abstract [eng] This paper examines the activities of cultural centers in a multicultural environment. The aim is to study the peculiarities of the activities of cultural centers in a multinational district. Object - peculiarities of the activity of Trakai district cultural centers. The paper consists of 4 main parts: Part I analyzes the state policy towards national minorities; emphasis is placed on the state's obligations to create conditions for maintaining and nurturing the traditions of national minorities, cultural and linguistic identity, taking into account the law of the Republic of Lithuania and international obligations in the field of national minorities (TMD, 2020). Cultural centers operating in multinational areas play a significant role in preserving and nurturing the culture and traditions of both Lithuanian and national minorities, promoting social and cultural integration, and creating and maintaining intercultural dialogue. Part II reviews the uniqueness of Trakai district - national and cultural diversity and the rich history of the area. The district strives to preserve the holidays, traditions and customs of Lithuanian and national minorities; the representatives of different nations living here take over in one way or another certain customs of another nation living next door. Cultural centers have collectives that support the identity of nations; there are events dedicated to the traditions of one of the nations, as well as events with the participation of representatives of different nations. The paper discusses the peculiarities of operating in a multicultural environment. Part III discusses the results of a survey of employees of cultural institutions: in cultural institutions, the attention paid to the culture of both Lithuanians and national minorities is similar, taking into account the needs of the local population, the location and the forms of self-expression (amateur art groups); the most actively attended traditional calendar events and celebrations – Pancake Day, St. John's Day, Herbal Day; not all festivals and geographical areas include the peculiarities of national minority holidays; in the organization of celebrations in a multicultural environment, a frequent cultural institution does not face any difficulties, but some problems emerge: silent national confrontation, manifestations of nationalism, and etc. It is very important that cultural centers operating in a multicultural environment are open to all residents, regardless of their nationality, race, religion or believes. Part IV presents a creative project - Rūdiškės Amateur Art Festival "Where we were born, where we grew up, where the land is sacred".
