| Abstract [eng] |
Purpose of this paper is to perform research about sediment dredging optimization in sea port of Klaipėda. Consistent development of sea port Klaipėda leads to changes of undercurrents, that’s why the annual bottom sediment amount is growing. Because of this purpose optimization of sediment dredging works was selected Sediment causes were analyzed in order to select the optimal bottom sediment dredging equipment. The amount of annual sediments in Klaipėda port according different researches do not mach with actual annually dredged amount. The paper has analyzed the possible reasons for the discrepancies. Methodological part was set up and applied to the annual sediment amount prognosis. Assessed average annual sediment amount which will help to calculate required hopper capacity to optimize the dredging works in port of Klaipėda. The developed mathematical model can be adapted to optimize trailing suction hopper dredger cycle time depending on the project circumstances. |
