In this article the issue of the educational practi cians contact with values of ethnoculture is pre sented. Answers of teachers to a questionnaire are discussed, and conclusions are drawn from the analysis of the answers. Teachers have strong motivation for the contact with values of national culture and culture in ge neral. It explains their belonging to a nation and their abiding aspiration to fufill their professional duties because only a self-educated man of high culture who has national individuality can realize his duty for his nation and mankind. Individuality of teachers is based on their na tion's morals, and culture which are the source of continuous refinement. According to the experience of teachers, the na tive language is a multisignificant value. It is a means of communication, the guard nation's re sources, the teacher of honesty, an aesthetical va lue, the means of the creation and continuation of culture. Contacts with national culture make the inner power stronger, increase the wish to learn and perfect oneself, give power to believe in Truth, Goodness and Beauty, and answer many questions of existence. The spirit of the nation is alive, the traditions are not inhibited, the wisdom of the nation is not forgotten. In the institutions where teachers are prepared future teacriers are introduced to the va lue of national culture and to the significance of defending it. The elements of foreign culture and pseudo- culture assimilate the natural culture, but the wor kers of the education institutions, have hope that the culture of the nation will be saved and the maturing personality will have proper conditions for natural expansion of its native culture. The practical influence of teachers on the conti nuation of national culture appears to be though modest yet at the same time concrete and mea ningful. |
