| Abstract [eng] |
Managers in construction companies often are lacking basic theoretical and practical knowledge of employees’ motivation systems despite abundant information about possibilities to improve it. This inspired formulation of the following problem: what should be the employees’ motivation system in construction companies, so, that it would satisfy each employee’s needs and would positively influence their performance in achieving company’s business goals? Objective of this study – establish the possibilities to improve the employees’ motivation system in construction companies. To achieve this goal a quantitative study was chosen – a survey in written form. Theoretical part of this study resulted in a model of employee’s motivation system improvement, which in turn helped to create a survey’s instrument – the questionnaire. Selection of target groups was performed by using a purposive approach instead of a probabilistic one. In the survey participated 45 respondents (managers, engineers, specialist, constructions workers) from each of the two construction companies: „Klaipėdos monolitas“ JSC and „Klaistvita“ JSC. Employees’ motivation system in construction companies should comprise these steps of improvement: a) present use and develop plans for motivation arrangements according to available resources; b) define the goals of organisation and of individual employee to achieve the objectives of the motivation system; c) periodically (on daily, monthly, quarterly basis) check the performance results and their changes; d) present a constant feedback on changes in the results; e) perform a monitoring of motivation system in order to align the performance results with the goals of the organisation and of individual employees. |
