This article deals with the Klaipeda old city history, Ledergasse suburb - Friedrichsstadt. Ledergasse suburb was recorder in the 16th century; it was build in the territory subordinate to the castle administration to the south from Dange River branch. In the 16-17th centuries Ledergasse suburb closely related to the needs of the castle gained an exeptional legal status. It was a place where migrants from other countries could settle more easily and where a community of Evangelical reformers gathered. |
