| Abstract [eng] |
Wine has been used for severai thousand years in the history of humankind. Abundance of wine in the Holy Scripture is related symbolically to Lord's blessing of people and the promise of God's eschatological saving. Eschatological Messianic kingdom is described as a kingdom abounding in wine. From all signs accomplished by Jesus, evangelist John presents the turning of water into wine at the wedding feast as the first sign. The article aims to reveal the symbolism of water turned into wine at the wedding at Cana. Wine is the symbol ofheaven, and the turning of water into wine by Jesus symbolizes that He has brought heaven to earth. |
