Abstract [eng] The article reviews the versatile creative activities of Bruno Markaitis SJ (1922–1998), a Lithuanian Jesuit priest, philosopher, composer, conductor, and publicist. On the basis of epistolary materials, archival sources from the USA, and scarce publications of religious publicistic works by Lithuanian musicians, foreign musicians of Lithuanian descent, and B. Markaitis himself, his social and aesthetical views, as well as the attitudes of his religious world outlook, are characterised. The second part is devoted to the dissemination and assessment of the religious world outlook of priest Markaitis.
