Abstract [eng] The dissertation deals with the nature and structure of the concept of organisational culture (OC), its main functions, and their nature and meaning, the nature of emotional intelligence (EI), and the opportunities and ways of its development. It focuses on the establishment of relationships between the OC of an organisation and its manager's EI and, based on that, on the development of the OC formation model through the manager's EI. In the dissertation, the previously published and recent works of national and foreign authors in the field of OC formation and EI development have been for the first time collected and summarised. To implement the aim of the dissertation "to establish criteria for OC formation disclosing the interrelations between the manager's EI and OC and to develop the model for the OC formation through the manager's emotional intelligence, to provide recommendations on its applicability", a complex OC and manager's EI empirical research instrument and a research methodology have been developed by the author, and the research has been conducted in Lithuanian and foreign logistics companies. The significance of the dissertation consists of the opportunities of the use of a proposed research instrument, integrating the OC and manager's EI evaluation methodologies, for the formation of OC through the manager's EI and the manager's role in the formation of the OC indicators, as well as of an OC formation model and the recommendations for its practical application. Moreover, the formulated theoretical and practical solutions of the OC formation through the manager's emotional intelligence can be used for the development of teaching programmes and for giving lectures in the field of management.
