| Abstract [eng] |
Juridical aspects and factors of religious education in Lithuania are presented and analyzed in the article. In the context of two different historical periods of Independent Lithuania (19181940 and 19902009) the article discusses the process of restitution of Catholic education and its legitimation by state laws as well as provisions of educational policy, which influenced creation and development of religious education and Catholic schools. Documents of national and international importance, which affected the position of religious education in the state educational system, and educational laws, which regulate religious education, are also analyzed. Political and social attitudes following and influencing these processes are discussed. Comparative insights of juridical aspects of religious education in Lithuania are also presented. |
