Abstract [eng] The article discusses the role of a teacher implementing an integrated civil education programme, maturing student‘s habits to take over a healthy lifestyle of a nation in order to understand social value and significance of one’s own health improvement. Most of researches declare constantly deteriorating health and declining physical activity of school students. The problem of scientific research is defined with the following questions: What is the level of primary school teacher’s subject competency in health education? Is physical activity related to health encouraged at primary school? Research aim – to research and analyse primary school teachers’ knowledge of healthy lifestyle and its spread in educational reality. The research revealed that development of school students’ healthy lifestyle is mainly determined by educational background, i.e. teachers understand the social value and significance of school students’ health improvement however, they lack didactic competence – knowledge and skills to develop healthy lifestyle values in schools students.
