The paper analyzes the Catechetical Department of academic, scientific and pastoral activities with a brief history of the development, educational programs, activities and prospects. The presence of catholic Department in university culture helps to look for a full academic processes of the truth about the world, the man and the God. This article also briefly examines the essential features of university pastoral care, characteristics, goals and objectives of the universal Church in a wide evangelistic mission context. Briefly discusses the university pastoral care activities in Lithuania and especially in Klaipeda University. A university pastoral care includes extensive Church's pastoral care of culture: not only concern students 'and teachers' spiritual life, but the dialogue between faith and science, between religion and culture and fostering the organization of the university environment. The article also discusses the activities of the chaplain of the University of Klaipeda and pastoral features of the migration of students. |
