On the basis of analyzed archival materials the article introduces to activity of Catholic gymnasiums in Telšiai diocese in the period of 1918-1940. It reviews their foundation related circumstances after restoration of independence in Lithuania and dynamics in development of their network in above diocese. It also analyzes factors that were stimulating and impeding the process. Tlie article analyzes development of educative activityfrom the viewpoint ofcontent in formal upbringing, methods and approaches of education. It introduces to peculiarities in the contingent of educators from the viewpoint of education and nationality, analyzes academic and social features of learners. Catholic gymnasiums are treated as a nursery for national cultural-educational activity. |
