Abstract [eng] Vulnerability of adolescents on online social networks is becoming more and more relevant both nationally and internationally. Fostering responsibility on online social networks among teenage girls attending a Child Day Care Centre has so far been little studied scientifically. Therefore, in the dissertational research it has been attempted to construct the grounded theory that would help to understand the phenomenon of fostering responsibility on OSN among teenage girls attending a CDCC. The systematic version of the grounded theory has been chosen to accomplish the research. It provides the researcher with an opportunity to reveal the experiences of the research participants and to conceptualise the research data by revealing the reasons, context and conditions of the problem, strategies and consequences of actions/interactions. The research has been conducted by applying a structured interview method, 16 specialists from various Children Day Care Centres of Lithuania have participated in the research. By applying the methodological procedures, the grounded theory called Fostering responsibility on OSN among teenage girls: “Towards responsible freedom” has been constructed. The constructed grounded theory helps to understand the reasons, context, intervening factors and strategies of actions and interactions of fostering responsible involvement in OSN among teenage girls attending a CDCC; it reveals the consequences and strategic directions of the newly constructed educational process. The constructed grounded theory has revealed that the initially identified freedom without responsibility in girls’ activities on OSN is changing into responsible freedom on OSN in the course of educational interaction.
