To establish a linguistic error, the criterion of the meaning of a linguis- tic unit non/conforming to the context, could be applied. The linguistic error occurs whenever a linguistic unit contradicts the context, even if it contradicts by a minute part of its meaning. Linguistic shortcomings occur whenever a linguistic unit does not fully conform to the context in terms of the abstract meaning of the text or its present trend of usage, but it does not contradict the context. Stylistic errors and shortcomings are linguistic units, when used breaking the concord of the context and the stylistic con- notation of linguistic units. |
