| Abstract [eng] |
This master thesis was written to continue the study, started by request of the company „HAMPIDJAN BALTIC“ and on the basis of K. Budginas Master Thesis „Tension rope vibration reduction feasibility study research” recommendations. In this master thesis a research of vessel‘s towed rope vibration reduction has been made. Research object – wing profile, which reduces towed rope vibrations. The issue is that seismic vessels exploring the seabed, receive incorrect data, because of the sensors hanging on a rope that vibrates. To minimize vibrations „HAMPIDJAN BALTIC“ proposes to use wing profiles that should reduce towed rope vibrations. In order to make further optimization and to find more effective wing profile solution, in this master thesis I have created three wing profile modifications and have made a study about their performance. The experiment was made using FLOW 3D software in order to create the better design of the wings, improving water flow around them. Comparing different profile data, the best option selected. The theory of waterflow around the wings has been also analyzed in this thesis. Conclusions about selection of wings have been composed and further recommendations created. |
