During the modernization of the Lithuanian Military Aviation and seeking to increase its military potential, the 7th Fighter Squadron was established on 1 April 1938 and stationed at Kaunas aerodrome. The successful execution of the tasks assigned was conceived as the implementation of the necessary pre-conditions for the fight – quantitative and qualitative adequacy of fighting tools and manpower.
