Author analyzes the topic of personalized psychosocial support for cancer patients what is a relevant issue world-wide to ensure the highest quality in cancer care. The purpose of this thesis is after assessing the need for personalized psychosocial support, to evaluate it’s integration opportunities for improving the well-being of cancer patients. This thesis paper consists of two main parts: in the first part the importance of psychosocial support services, their integration problems into routine practice in health care organizations and the significance of personalized psychosocial support in cancer care are being justified from a theoretical perspectives. In the second part the case study of Klaipėda University hospital is performed, the results of qualitative research are presented, bringing the insights regarding personalized psychosocial support integration in the institution. Based on the results of the study, the author provides practical recommendations and the developed model of personalized psychosocial support for cancer patients. |
