Abstract [eng] The master's thesis examines the factors affecting the income inequality in the groups of EU countries. The aim of this work – to analyse and evaluate the factors affecting the change of income inequality in the groups of EU countries after completing the income inequalities and determinants analysis in theoretical aspect. After analysing scientific literature in the first part of the work, the concept of the income inequalities is defined. In order to evaluate the factors determining the income inequality, the factors presented in the scientific literature are identified. It also reveals indicators of income inequality and an empirical analysis of the factors affecting the change of income inequality is performed. The second part of the work presents the methodology of the study of the factors affecting income inequality in the groups of EU countries and evaluation model. Firstly, the research stages are revealed. The EU countries are also grouped by the level of development, which is GDP per capita. After completing the scientific literature analysis, the factors determining the income inequality used in the research and the indicators reflecting them are defined. The third part of the thesis analyses the trends of income inequalities, its determinants and the indicators reflecting them in the groups of European Union countries in the 1995–2017 period. After the evaluation model is made, the regression analysis of the factors affecting the change of income inequality in the groups of European Union countries is performed and the factors affecting the change of income inequality during the research period are determined. The results of the survey showed that the impact of the factors that determine income inequality differs among different levels of development in gropus of EU countries. Also, the impact of globalization of trade is higher in the EU countries with higher levels of development.
