Abstract [eng] Applicacion of andragogic functions in the activity of dual sports coaches gives presumptions for a proper creation of teaching and learning situations for adults, assurance of opportunities to teach and learn, creation of lifelong learning perspectives for adults. It increases the efficiency of coaching. It means that application of andragogic functions in the professional activity of combat sports’ coaches can make presumptions for successful training. Scientific problem – how mutual sports’ coaches apply andragogic functions in professional activity and what are the possibilities for their development? Object of the research – andragogic functions of combat sports’ coaches. Aim of the research – to analyse theoretically and ground empirically the application of andragogic functions in professional activity of Lithuanian combat sports’ coaches; to present possibilities for their development. Tasks of the research: 1. To analyze theoretical presumptions for the application of andragogic functions in professional activity of combat sports’ coaches: concept, types, peculiarities of activity organization, the expression of andragogic functions. 2. To evaluate the expression of andragogic functions in professional activity of Lithuanian combat sports’ coaches from coaches’ viewpoint. 3. To accomplish case analysis in order to find out possibilities for the development of andragogic functions application in professional activity of combat sports’ coaches. Methods of the research: scientific literature analysis, a questionnaire survey, case analysis. Theoretical novelty of the paper reveals in the aspect that professional activity of coach integrates andragogic functions and essential opportunities for their development. In practice the paper is significant because results of empirical research let to find out if coaches apply andragogic functions in their professional acitivity, how do they apply them and what are the opportunities for their development. Instruments prepared for the empirical research can be applied in a wider context for the researches of andragogic functions of other sports’ coaches.
