Abstract [eng] Chemotherapy is one of the basic methods of treatment for the patients having oncological disease. The treatment causes a lot of side effects and has negative influence on the emotional status of the patients. In order to decrease the levels of incurred anxiety and depression it is important to communicate with the patients not only at hospital but also at home. When the patients go treating at home ambulatorily it is important to be interested in their status because the questionnaire on phone helps to decrease anxiety and depression. The goal of research – to evaluate anxiety and depression incurred by the patients regarding the complications of chemotherapeutic treatment. The methodology of research. The combined research was made while joining the quantitative and qualitative research methods. Used instruments: questionnaire and interview. The statistic data processing and the method of content analysis were applied. The scope consists of: 60 patients in the quantitative research, 30 patients in the qualitative research. The research was made following the principles of ethics. The results of research. The received results of research showed that after the course of chemotherapeutic treatment the patients felt the side symptoms of treatment. It became clear that after the first course of chemotherapeutic treatment almost all respondents felt several symptoms. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, stomatitis was usually felt. In the beginning of research after the first course of chemotherapeutic treatment the empirical and control groups felt anxiety and depression. After applied questionnaire on phone it was determined that the empirical group of patients felt less level of anxiety and depression than the control group, to which the questionnaire on phone was not applied. The family status of the patients had significant influence while incurring anxiety and depression because lonely persons were more anxious than those, who were not lonely. Conclusion. After chemotherapeutic treatment the patients incur a lot of side effects and feel anxiety and depression. When the patients go treating at home ambulatorily the questionnaire on phone applied by the nurse about the status of the patients helps to decrease incurred anxiety and depression.
