Abstract [eng] Based on scientific evidence, that high levels of physical and psychological stress put healthcare workers at higher risk of burnout. There are more and more reports, in Lithuania, about emotional exhaustion and the indifference of healthcare workers, especially nurses, to the patients they care for. The aim – To determine the correlation Between Nurse Professional Burnout and It‘s Factors. Research methods. A quantative research was done, by using variable scale. Ch. Maslach ir S. E. Jackson (1981; 2016) “Maslach Burnout Inventory”. M. P. Leiter ir Ch. Maslach (2000; 2011) “Areas of Worklife Survey”. E. R. Thompson (2008) “Big-Five Mini-Markers”. Variables that make up professional burnout are transformed into three scales: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal achievement. Results. showed , that 30,3 percents of residents showed a hight level of the emotional exhaustion. The high level of personal nurses’ achievement was down by 28,2 percent. The manifestation of the depersonalization component at high level was only 4,8 percent. There was identified statistically important relationship between age and emotional exhaustion (r=-0,22 p<0,001) and the manifestation of the depersonalization component (r=-0,14 p=0,013) - younger nurses were more often emotionally exhausted, with a higher level of depersonalization than older ones. Conclusions. Nurses have the expression of professional burnout components: emotional exhaustion, personal loss of achievement, depersonalization. One-third of the nurses involved in the research experienced high levels of emotional exhaustion and a decrease in personal achievement. Most nurses have a low level of depersonalization component expression. All components of professional burnout are related to the working environment and personal characteristics. Emotional exhaustion of nurses was mostly related to workload and society; manifestation of depersonalization with values; the decrease in the nurse's personal achievements has an important impact on job evaluation. The individual characteristics of the nurses are associated with lower extraversion and increased neuroticism. The hypothesis has been confirmed, that nurses' professional burnout is more about the work atmosphere than the personal qualities.
