Abstract [eng] In the shallow basins such as the Curonian Lagoon, any wave-type disturbance has a major impact on species diversity and their distribution and vice versa. This work aims to evaluate the effect of macrophytes on wave power distribution in the littoral zone of the Curonian Lagoon. The object of the study is to analyse how the macrophytes can affect the wave power in the Curonian Lagoon. To obtain data on the wave power distribution SWAN (Simulating WAves Nearshore) wave model were used. The wave power and heights were modelled for the main 8 wind directions and at different wind speeds from 3 m/s to 34 m/s.
