Abstract [eng] Scientific literature does not specify the research that would consider the educational dimension of family when discussing the health-related quality of child's life. An educational impact of the family on the child's health is usually analyzed through the modeling of parental behaviour and the identification of the style of upbringing and the type of socialisation. However, there is a lack of links between the educational impact mechanisms and the quality of life. The validated KIDSCREEN 52 questionnaire presented in the dissertation enables the analysis of evaluation of the quality of life as a field of dynamic tension between children and parents, revealing the factors shaping the differences and similarities between children and parents' evaluations of the health-related quality of life. This approach coincides with the new trends in the research into quality of life that emphasize the importance of harmonising the children and parents' evaluations of the health-related quality of life. Aim of the research: to conceptualise the expression of the educational dimension of the family in the context of parent evaluation and children self-evaluation of the health-related quality of life. Significant assumptions can be made, that the quality of life indicates correlations between an individual's social experience and their awareness. In other words, the resources of social environment which are important to health promotion are perceived through the structures of people's daily experiences. Study showed that the assessment of the quality of life as expressed by children and parents includes a very important dimension of family education based on social awareness rising from the ability to view a situation from other people's viewpoint and empathise with other people, to perceive and assess their similarities and differences. It was determined that that the assessment of the quality of life is modelled as a dialogue where the transformations of the meanings of people's experiences can be revealed. The dialogue between children and parents is the factor which determines the coherence of the assessment of the quality of life expressed by children and parents. The prevailing attitude towards health shared in families is based on the manifestation of health risk factors. Even though two thirds of the children did not indicate they had health disorders, only one third of them assessed their health as excellent and very good. This demonstrates that, in the children's assessment of health, both the absence of a disease or disability and also psychological and social factors are important.
