Abstract [eng] Job demands, such as physical, psychological, organizational or social aspects of work, that require constant efforts and personal skills of nurses in carrying out their functions and ensuring the quality of the nursing services. The job resources are identified at personal healthcare level, i.e., autonomy, development opportunities, safety and feedback. Creation of team spirit or climate in nursing practice, work organisation policy, the clarity of the role, involvement in decision-making process, improvement of skills and demonstration of personal resources in attempt to ensure the quality of nursing services. The aim of the study: To determine the connection between Quality of Nursing and Job Demands – Resources. The methods of the research. A quantitative analysis was carried out. Two instruments were used for the analysis: statistical data processing and content analysis. The sample consisted of 234 nurses. The research was carried out complying with the principles of ethics. The results of the research. It was determined that workload does not have a significant impact on the quality of nursing services. However, nurses have to do some extra work, if they want to achieve the desirable nursing effect. It was found that the cognitive (focus, increased concentration, precision) and emotional (contradictions to their world outlook, inappropriate and disrespectful behaviour) requirements of nurses, social conflicts, hardships and disputes have an impact on the quality of nursing services. Job resources: autonomy, social support, feedback, development opportunities, educational leadership, nurses’ personal resources (self-motivation and optimism) influence the quality of the nursing services. Conclusion. The cognitive and emotional requirements of nurses, social conflicts, disputes and hardships at work have an impact on the quality of nursing services. Autonomy, social support, feedback, development opportunities, educational leadership, nurses’ self-motivation and optimism also influence the quality of nursing.
