Abstract [eng] |
Background / objective. To evaluate the effectiveness of the Ginkor Fort medication (Beaufour Ipsen) for the outpatient treatment of hemorrhoids. Methods. Forty-eight patients were treated in three different outpatient clinics. The history and symptoms were taken and the patients were given Ginkor Fort (Beaufour Ipsen) 1 capsule 3 times a day. The patients were interviewed and seen by the same coloproctologist after 7 and 15 days of treatment, and changes in symptoms and objective evaluation were noted. Results. Its use significantly reduced symptoms of bleeding and pain after the first week of treatment and continued to reduce it after two weeks. Other symptoms such as tenesmus, pruritus and discharge were significantly reduced after two weeks of treatment. A significant reduction of the degree of hemorrhoids was noted after 15 days of treatment. Treating coloproctologists evaluated the functional result as very good in 23 patients (47.9%) and as good in 21 (43.8%), on the whole – 44 of 48 patients (91.7%). Satisfactory result was obtained in the remaining 4 patients (8.3%). Clinical result of the treatment was determined as very good in 18 (37.5%) and as good in 20 (41.7%) patients, in total in 38 of 48 patients (79.2%). The results were satisfactory in 7 (14.6%) and bad in 3 (6.3%) patients. Conclusions. 1. The use of Ginkor Fort medication statistically significantly reduced the symptoms of hemorrhoids (bleeding and pain) after the first week and continued to reduce them after two weeks; pruritus, discharge and tenesmus were reduced after two weeks of treatment. 2. The use of Ginkor Fort medication decreased the level of prolapse after two weeks of treatment. 3. Conservative treatment of hemorrhoids should be reserved for the patients that present with symptomatic hemorrhoids until they get the consultation from coloproctologist and for those, who refuse invasive or operative treatment of hemorrhoids. |
