| Abstract [eng] |
In this day and age, the entrepreneurial sector, which is a driver of economic expectations, is important to operate ethically and fairly. Sustainable business can be ensured by business ethics and ethical values. The problem and topicality of the thesis is based on the fact that the significance of ethical values in the public sector is not a subject under consideration in Lithuania, nor is there any case study of the significance of ethical values in the public sector. Research proves that business ethics is one of the youngest, most relevant, and fastest-growing areas of science in the global marketplace. The case of AB Telia Lietuva was chosen in this final master's thesis. Many Lithuanian residents know about this company, but not everyone is aware of its ethically sustainable activities. This case has proven that the company uses ethical principles, sustainable operations. But at the same time, some paradigms are losing ethical values, their use and importance. The purpose of this work "The Importance of Ethical Values in the Public Sector: The Case of Telia Lietuva AB" is to analyze activities, facts, and behaviors based on the company's ethical values. In order to achieve this goal, the thesis analyzed scientific literature on the application of ethical theories in business, business ethics, business challenges and problems, social responsibility, the significance of codes and their creative process, macro and micro ethical business challenges and problems. The research part presents the characteristics of AB Telia Lietuva. For in-depth consumer and employee analysis, research methods such as: Quantitative survey - questionnaire survey, and qualitative survey - semi-structured interview method with Telia Customer Service 9 employees working in private customer manager positions and their manager were used. For a broader understanding of the ethical company, Telia Company's Code of Conduct analysis was used. A review of the literature and the results of the study suggest that utilitarian, deontological, Christian ethics are still present in business. The development of ethical values in the activities of companies is not yet completely accurate and guaranteed. Organizations still face a variety of ethical issues related to communication, environmental, sales, and behavior. The investigation revealed that AB Telia Lietuva promotes many ethically correct activities. But a questionnaire survey found that a small percentage of clients felt cheated and disagreed with some of the ethical code's facts. And the interview method helped to clarify that AB Telia Lietuva is still telling its employees to accomplish goals that lead to the sale of goods to customers, even creating unnecessary needs. |
