Nevertheless, the medicine and technologies are rapidly modernizing; the risk of gaining the hospital infection remains one of the most relevant problems in the world, which is rising in the health care institutions. This problem creates disbalance of hospital budget, the patient and his relatives suffer physically, morally and psychologically. Effective management of hospital infections is a key factor in reducing morbidity. The aim. After evaluating the possibilities of hospital infection management in Hospital, submit a recommendations for the prevention of nosocomial infection. The methodology. To prepare the work, the analysis of scientific literature by Lithuanian and foreign authors was applied, and a quantitative research was performed. Used device: questionnaire. Data were processed using computer programs Microsoft Office Word 2010 and Microsoft Office Excel 2010, SPSS 22 Statistics. The sample consisted of 181 respondents. The study was conducted in compliance with ethical principles. Research results. More than half of the specialists thought they had enough knowledge about hospital infections. The main factor influencing the onset of infection is antibiotic resistance. Most agreed that hand antiseptics are a key factor in protection against hospital-acquired infections. Of all the risk factors related to the patient's condition, the most important was the weakening of the immune system. The most significant risk factors for nosocomial infections associated with treatment were the following: multiple invasive procedures, treatment in the intensive care unit for more than 48 hours. Of all the environmental risk factors for nosocomial infection presented, specialists rated inadequate surface cleaning and disinfection as the most significant. The biggest benefit of registering hospital infections is that it is a good way to evaluate the effectiveness of preventative measures. Conclusion. The study revealed that medical staff have knowledge of nosocomial infections, but there is a lack of awareness about nosocomial infection registration systems. Infections are often not recorded. Ensuring security and confidentiality, as well as a registration incentive system, would help to capture all incidents. Keywords: nosocomial infection, management. |
