The article analyses the development of the psalms devoted to St. Casimir in Lithuania. The most significant facts of the germ of the tradition from the 17th century are presented, at the publication of the first Lithuanian psalms is discussed. The best psalms for the choir (by J. Naujalis, T. Brazys, also by the Lithuanian composers, working and living abroad at that time) are discussed as well. Especially efficient creative period of casimiriana dates back to the collision of the 20th-21st centuries. The most characteristic tendencies of the genre expansion are raised, the best works are pointed out. |
