The article explores the Lithuanian data of the Research into European Teenagers’ Use of Alcohol and Other Narcotics (ESPAD-07). This research is important for organizing preventive work at schools, formation of strategic guidelines based on the data and planning preventive means on the state level. While analyzing the data, attention is paid in the article to spread, change, tendencies of alcohol, tobacco and other narcotics use as well as to directions of preventive activity. “Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Mind-Affecting Substances Usage Prevention Programme” being implemented at schools orients teachers not to conveying of knowledge about alcohol, tobacco and other narcotics, but to development of competences, life skills and formation of attitudes. The programme is based on coordination between formal and nonformal education, with orientation being to a family, school, community. |
