Abstract [eng] Andragogic interaction in mentoring is understood as learning that takes place through interaction with another person, observing his or her activities in various social contexts. The success of an employee's social adaptation is determined by the andragogical interaction created by the mentor, the expression of which depends on the personal qualities of the mentor and the acquired and constantly developed andragogical competencies. The analysis of the research data showed that mentoring is applied in four business organizations of Plungė city, its importance is perceived, but there is no mentoring system, procedure for appointing employees as a mentor, sources for motivating mentors to perform these activities. An experienced employee usually becomes a mentor, but he or she is not specially trained or trained for this. Both qualitative and quantitative research participants understand andragogical interaction too narrowly, which prevents them from maintaining equal, collegial relationships, insufficient attention is paid to all aspects of andragogical interaction, and pedagogical interaction prevails more than andragogical interaction. This shows that in these organizations it is necessary for the mentor to improve andragogical competencies in order to ensure proper social adaptation of new employees. The hypothesis of the study was confirmed.
