This paper reviews the supply chain of the oil industry and the location of the oil product handling terminal in it. The most important elements of the oil terminal infrastructure and the main reasons affecting competitiveness are singled out. A study of the activities of SCS “Klaipedos Nafta” is also being carried out. The most important elements of SCS “Klaipedos Nafta” oil terminal, characteristics of quays and overpasses, product storage possibilities, main loading schemes, oil product loading technologies and loading dynamics are analyzed. The main goal of this thesys is to study part of the oil supply chain – the oil product terminal, its product handling potential, and the factors most influencing it. For this purpose, the research uses the author's created methodology for assessing the handling potential of oil products. Cargo handling on terminal overpasses and its dynamics in the analyzed years are evaluated separately. The main reasons influencing the maximum possibilities are singled out and the loading potential is determined. Based on the study of loading berths, the optimal schedule of arrival of ships is selected and the amount of oil products that can be loaded is determined. The optimal batches of oil products are selected during the storage feasibility study. All these parts are coordinated by determining the total handling potential of the oil product terminal and the current level of its implementation. |
