Tourism is a branch of the economy that combines the consumption of natural, cultural, economic and social resources. It is an actively growing branch of the economy, and laws and regulations pay special attention to the observance of the principles of sustainable development in tourism. This work discusses what is sustainable tourism, its sustainable development, the main activities. An overview of which types of tourism have the most in common with sustainable tourism, and mentions the main stakeholders in the development of sustainable tourism. It has been studied how local communities, the public sector and information technology can and must contribute to the sustainable development of tourism and the consequences of that cooperation. One of the most beautiful places in the Lithuanian littoral landscape, which could become an object of sustainable tourism, is analyzed. Analyzing the Lithuanian National Sustainable Development Strategy and its updated recommendations, as well as the objectives set in the National Agenda Implementation Report, a fundamental problem arises whether there is an opportunity to develop sustainable tourism activities in the territory of Rusnė Island of the Nemunas Delta Regional Park? |
