| Abstract [eng] |
Vilnius Dailė manufactory, which worked during the Soviet period and united artists and architects from various fields, was a product of the political system and its tool. This type of organization functioned and was possible only in the socialist countries. The operation, administration, product sales and other organizational measures of the manufactory functioned as instruments of ideological control. Aspects of the organizational activity of the Vilnius Dailė manufactory highlight how the company, subordinated to the political system, functioned. The production association of the manufactory was created by the Soviet system in order to implement and consolidate the Soviet ideology, both in the creation of the living environment and in the production of circulation decorative items. On the other hand, through the activities of the Dailė manufactory (both the implementation of large projects and industrial art products) a certain direction of Lithuanian design was formed, which occupies an important and significant place in the context of Lithuanian design history. |
