Operating room nurse‘s work is very hard and requires a lot of attentiveness, however the requirements for this job are constantly growing, because they have to make a lot of significant decisions, which causes daily exhaustion and professional burnout. Aim of the thesis paper: to research the relationship between the life-quality and professional burnout of operating room . Research methodology: Scientific literature reviews were analized and quantitative research was conducted. Two questionairres were used- Maslach‘s burnout syndrome questionnaire and Short health questionnaire. There were 232 respondents working in Vilnius municipal hospitals (230-women and 2 men). Research was made according to all ethical principles. Research results. Emotional exhaustion scales and depersonalization average showed that mutual nurse emotional exhaustion is medium. Nurses’ physical activity decreases with age. The research results showed that older nurses rate their health much worse than younger nurses. Differences between workload groups on the physical activity scale showed that 1.5 full-time nurses are more physically active. Analysis of the data obtained showed that there is a negative significant relationship between the scale of physical activity and the length of service of nurses. This means that the longer the nurse’s length of service, the lower the physical activity. There is a statistically significant difference between the wage satisfaction groups of the physical activity scale. The results of the research showed that the most physically active are nurses, who are completely satisfied with their salary. The results showed complete satisfaction with the salaries of nurses who work 1.75 full-time or who work through 2- 3 jobs. Conclusions. Research showed that some operating room nurses face medium professional burnout. Also, it was noticed that there is a relationships between nurses‘ workload and origin of pain and different disseases. Hypothesis. “Nurses that have high workload, have a higher level of professional burnout“ was rejected. |
