One of the most important healthcare system challenges, covering all countries in the world regardless their development level, is guarantee of the patients’ safety. Patient safety related solutions are very relevant because of the rapid scientific/ technological development, increasing social expectations and aging society. Aim: to analyze the approach of the health care specialists on patients’ safety and team work Methodology: the questionnaire. Data processed with the statistics software SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Respondents: 172 health care entity employees. The research has been performed, observing the principles of ethics. Results: the research has revealed the positive approach of the health care specialists on patients’ safety and team work. The latter has been positively assessed by over 1/3 of the respondents, occupational stress impact - 41.3 per cent. The respondents were mostly satisfied with their work conditions (80.2 per cent), the authorities’ approach on safety (71.5 per cent), satisfaction with work (75.6 per cent) and safety environment (70.3 per cent). Almost all respondents have positively assessed the situation monitoring and leadership (93.6 per cent and 90.7 per cent accordingly. The team structure has been positively assessed by 72.7 per cent of the respondents. Conclusions. The assessed entities featured safe and team-oriented environment. The respondents were proud of their organization and were satisfied with their jobs. The authorities’ functions were assessed positively, however, in order to achieve higher and more effective patients’ safety, the number of the personnel should be increased. Work of each team member should be evaluated appropriately. The team work efficiency could be increased by monitoring of individual productivity, emotional and physical state. The research showed low up to medium statistically significant relation between the major approach on patients’ safety and team work dimensions. |
