Abstract [eng] Patients’ cardiovascular diseases treatment with percutaneous balloon angioplasty/percutaneous transluminal vascular angioplasty during angiography, important factors in further health status assurance: anxiety and sleep quality. The aim of this research – identify connection between anxiety and sleep quality of patiens after angiography. Research methodology. Was conducted a quantitative study by using a questionnaire. Was applied statistical data processing In a quantitative study the sample consisted of 205 patients: 118 of not working age (over 64 years) and 87 patients of working age (30–64 years). Research results. Patients, with cardiovascular disease who underwent elective percutaneous balloon angioplasty/percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, anxiety varied significantly (p<0,05) between groups according to their marital status. Patients’ sleep quality mean values differed statistically significantly (p <0,05) in both patients age groups according to the respondents’ gender, education and marital status. It was found that patients’ sleep quality index means values differed significantly in both age groups according to the drug use frequency (p<0,05). Patients’ anxiety against percutaneous balloon angioplasty and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty worsened sleep quality in different groups (p<0,05). Research conclusion. Patients with cardiovascular diseases and who have undergone elective percutaneous balloon angioplasty/percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, experienced mild (71,2%), moderate (21%), or severe symptomatic anxiety (7,8%). After angiography stent treatment, patients sleep quality rated as good (54,6%.), very good (23,4 %.), bad or very bad (21,8%.). Not working age patients’ sleep quality was poorer and after angiography treatment anxiety was higher, than working age patients’.
