Abstract [eng] The accessibility of cultural services for all groups of society has been widely and frequently mentioned in recent years. In 2010, Lithuania ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), Article 30 of which refers to ensuring accessibility of culture for people with disabilities. However, accessibility of culture for people with disabilities is often limited to special events organised by non-governmental organisations or on the initiative of individual cultural institutions and individuals. Due to the historical social norms in Lithuania, persons with disabilities experience severe social exclusion. Professional music events accessible to people with disabilities could contribute to reducing social exclusion, but there is a lack of in-depth analysis and research of the situation, lack of systematic solutions, and a lack of knowledge and competences of the staff of professional music institutions.
