The master's thesis analyzed and evaluated the importance of avoidable hospitalizations in the activities of active treatment municipal hospitals, examining the literature of Lithuanian and foreign authors, legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania and statistical data of Lithuania and foreign countries. A qualitative semi-structured interview study was conducted. The work is divided into three main sections. The first chapter examines the concept of avoidable hospitalizations, the specifics of the list of diseases managed on an outpatient basis, the evolution of avoidable hospitalizations in Lithuania and other countries, and the legal regulation of avoidable hospitalizations. In the second chapter, the financing system of the Lithuanian health sector is examined, against that background the cost of avoidable hospitalizations in our country is assessed, and the performance indicators of the country's municipal hospitals are described. The third chapter describes the qualitative research interview with the interlocutors, the informants' answers to the questions, their thoughts, suggestions are presented. Based on the received answers, conclusions are made, and problems that emerged during the empirical research are raised. |
