Abstract [eng] |
In the final master’s thesis, the aim was to analyze challenges of intermodal loading terminals in regards of railroads transportation loading operations. In theoretical part of thesis, we analyze intermodal transportation impact for future prospects, synergies between intermodal terminals and importance of railroads transportation, intermodal terminal and railroads transportation performing functions while performing intermodal freight. In research part we were executing a survey of experts of the field. The experts were chosen by criteria such as: real experience working in railroads industry, are directly involved with intermodal terminal operations, have a higher degree in the field that is surveyed. From the results of the survey, we identified the main points where the biggest impact is to intermodal terminal operations in regards to railroads transportation, the main impact – lack of innovation solutions. By using sampling method, we identified criteria that should impact the efficiency of the intermodal terminal process. The main criteria to increase the efficiency of the process is to unify railroads transportation, according to the experts, by designating a specific place for cargo in regards to the train that’s is being formed Ri=1.8. with the help of analyzing literature sources and results of the surveying experts we made a scientific model. The purpose of the model is to improve the efficiency on the intermodal terminal by modifying the preparation of loading the trains while keeping a close relationship with railroads transportation. Thesis consists of 3 parts: introduction, analysis, research, conclusion and suggestions, list of literature. Scope of the thesis – 58 pages of text without appendixes, 27 illustrations, 14 tables, 46 literature sources. Appendixes are added separately. |
