The topic of the final Master’s thesis is relevant in that the applying of strategic management models belongs on complex system of influenced factors in LIMEDIKA, JSC which business is the distribution of pharmacy production in Lithuania. The aim of the thesis is to assess LIMEDIKA, JSC strategic management development opportunities . Study objectives: to define key strategic management concepts and definitions; to describe strategic management principles for logistic activities and possibilities of pharmaceutical products; to investigate pharmaceutical logistics market in Lithuania; to assess LIMEDIKA, JSC internal and external environmental factors based on the study results; to evaluate strategic management principles of LIMEDIKA, JSC. Materials and methods: quantitative analysis, i.e. questionnaire-based survey, qualitative analysis, i.e. interview. Statistical methods were also applied to identify the situation of pharmacy and logistics sectors in the Lithuanian market. The structure of the thesis: total number of pages - 81 p., thesis consists of introduction, four sections, conclusions, recommendations, list of references and appendixes. Thesis includes 20 tables, 22 figures and 2 appendices. Theoretical overview of the concept of strategic management, strategic management models and specific characteristics of strategic management in pharmaceutical entities is provided in the first section. The second section analyzes characteristics of the company. Research methods are given in the third section and research results are presented in the fourth section. The conclusions summarize the Findings of the literature analysis and the results of the quantitative and qualitative analysis are summarized in the conclusions sector as well as recommendations for the company. The thesis revealed that the company's business is highly dependent on external regulatory framework of unbalanced different fields of regulatory measures, which leads the company to the growing costs of the logistics and increase in the price for supplying raw materials. Study results showed that there is a need to increase competitive ability in such possible ways like negotiation with national health insurance funds; security systems based on special cards. Other means could be loyalty program application, special price items, expansion of assortment while business development could be made by acquiring competitive pharmacies in strategically usable places. |
