These studies on the basis of the summary, minimalism characterizes the advantages and disadvantages of furniture design and reveals, or minimalism priorities which function and aesthetics remain the main advantages of the creation of contemporary furniture. In this paper it clarifed that the style has led to the advert of the artists desire to speak a new language of art, yet the use of the minimum old – known artistic language syntax. Another conclusion is that the roots of minimalism in the strongest and deepest – Japanese culture. It is determined by Japanese philosophy of life, nature, climate and the predominant religions. Master‘s research project concluded, why minimalist furniture design is so popular, it is possible for aesthetic furniture provided positive emotions, functional piece of furniture, uncluttered visual information is needed for the modern man. It‘s like visual counterpart, extended enriched everyday reality. Another conclusion came after analyzing Lithuanian furniture design context and links with minimalism revealed Lithuanian folk furniture is closest minimalist expression for features: monumentality, functionality, not sophisticated form. |
