Thesis topic: The Possibilities of ICT Application in English Lessons while Promoting Students‘ Learning Motivation Aim: to analyse the possibilities of ICT application while promoting students‘ learning motivation. Subjects: 7 English teachers who have the qualification of a senior teacher, teacher methodologist and expert, and apply ICT and teach gymnasium students. Methodology: A qualitative research, unstructured interview, was selected in order to reveal the experience of English teachers while applying ICT in promoting students‘ learning motivation. The data of open-ended questions were examined by using a descriptive qualitative content analysis. Results of the research: the empirical research revealed that in order to promote students‘ learning motivation during English lessons by applying ICT it is important to create a positive studying surroundings, to provide feedback, to apply the system of cumulative grading and contemporary education principles, and to maintain the dynamics of lesson activities. A computer, mobile phone, tablet, document camera and smartboard are the most frequently applied ICT tools. Language skills are improved by the usage of digital textbooks material, working in virtual learning environments or using the internet. |
