In the master thesis the concept of intercultural adaptation is analyzed, the main factors of cultural adaptation are determined by the method of document analysis, the intercultural experiences of foreign students are investigated, and the problems and challenges that foreign students face while studying in Lithuanian universities are revealed. The first part of the thesis examines the concept of intercultural adaptation, the importance of internationalization and its influence on intercultural communication, presents research and describes the most commonly used models of intercultural adaptation. The second part of the thesis presents the justification of the research methodology and the main questions of the research, discusses the perspectives of the evaluation of the research results, analyzes the socio-cultural experiences of the foreign students, who studied at Vilnius Tech and MRU universities, systematizes the data obtained during the in-depth qualitative research, a comparative analysis of mutual similarities and differences is carried out, questions of the research are answered. At the end of the master's thesis, conclusions and suggestions are presented on how to improve the process of intercultural adaptation for foreign students, and the problems that emerged during the empirical research are raised, based on the obtained research data. |
