Abstract [eng] The dissertation studies the impact of traffic loads on the experimental asphalt pavement structures with different type of asphalt materials. The aim of the dissertation is to increase a service life of road pavement structures, to determine the effect of different type of asphalt mixtures on the bearing capacity of pavement structures and the occurrence of defects under the same weather conditions and loads. The following tasks were solved: determination of the number of equivalent standard axle loads caused by each vehicle; experimental research and analysis of the change in the bearing capacity, rutting and cracking of asphalt pavement structures; economic evaluation of the construction of road pavement structures with asphalt layers of different mixtures; selection of the most rational asphalt pavement structure. The dissertation consists of introduction, four chapters, general conclusions, the list of references and the list of author’s publications on the topic of the dissertation, 11 addenda. Introduction describes the studied problem, topicality of the problem and the object of research, also the formulated aim and tasks, research methodology, scientific novelty, practical value of results and the defended propositions. Chapter 1 gives the analysis of literature, the overview of the European road network and vehicle traffic flow, a short overview of the former scientific researches related to the impact of heavy traffic on road pavements, describes a concept of equivalent standard axle. The chapter presents the conclusions of the chapter and the tasks of dissertation. Chapter 2 describes the analysed models of the traffic-generated impact on pavement structures (from static to dynamic loads), modelling of the initiation and development of ruts and cracks, overviews asphalt pavements defects and their causes, gives the conclusions of the chapter. Chapter 3, based on the plan of experimental research and the projected methodologies and equipment, gives the analysis of the change in the bearing capacity, in the propagation of existing plastic deformations and defects caused by traffic loads, presents the conclusions of the chapter. Chapter 4 gives economic evaluation of the construction of road pavement structures with asphalt layers of different mixtures, and selection of the most rational asphalt pavement structure. On the topic of the dissertation 8 scientific articles have been published: three – in scientific journals included into the list of Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge, two – in the conference proceedings reviewed in the Thomson ISI Proceedings publication. On the topic of the dissertation three presentations were made in international conferences.
