In order to commemorate 2023 as the Year of Lithuanian Political Prisoners and Deportees, the Year of V. Putvinskis–Putvis, the Year of Klaipėda Region in Lithuania and to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Lithuanian Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees, the Society XXVII Book Lovers, in cooperation with the Lithuanian Union of Political Prisoners and Deportees (LPKTS), the Lithuanian World Centre and the Lithuanian Artists’ Association invited artists from Lithuania and abroad to participate in the international competition of ex libris works “EX LIBRIS. GUARDS OF HISTORICAL MEMORY” and to submit original works of graphic design to the public. As the chairman of the jury, I can rejoice together with the SIEKIS ĮPRASMINTI LIETUVOS ISTORINĖS ATMINTIES VARDUS IR ĮVYKIUS Prof. Dr Jonas JAKAITIS Chairman of Vilnius Section of LPKTS, Member of the LPKTS Council, Chairman of the Competition Jury, Professor at Vilnius Tech Prof. dr. Jonas Jakaitis – Forumo-23 sumanytojas; Rasa Juknevičienė – Europos Parlamento narė; Paulė Kuzmickienė – Seimo narė, Seimo Laisvės kovų ir valstybės istorinės atminties komisijos pirmininkė. 99 organisers and participants of the competition and express my sincere gratitude for the professional bookplate artwork and for the development of knowledge about the events and personalities of the historical memory of the fights for freedom. |
