Small banks are important participants of Lithuania finance system, because they specialize and raise their market share positively in those areas of activities which are not covered by giant banks. Despite the fact that small banks are influenced by the same market, law and economic environment, purchaser need’s which are volatile, they react more sensitively to market changes. But still they attempt to survive and work efficiently. The importance of this master work is that in Lithuania there are no researches which analyze small banks growth and activity potential, likewise small banks activity prospects or possibilities to raise new finance resources. Research object – the analyzes of small banks activity in Lithuania market, by establishing small banks activity peculiarities, problems, growth prospects and small banks influence to country economy and to whole finance system. Hypothesis – fundamental foundation of rapid small banks growth, vitality and expansion is small banks activity niche, however new finance market participants entry into the market may reduce small banks market share and survival of small banks in Lithuania market is related with foreign capital raise. Research goal – to analyze activity specific of small banks in Lithuania market, to establish activity potential and represent future activity prognoses. Tasks: • Explore evoliution and tendencies of expansion of small banks in Lithuania market; • Sift fundamential elements which influence small banks activity, explore impact of low and economy environment; • Make small banks strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analyses; • Establish small banks activity development aspects and prognoses taking into account specific of Lithuania market, Lithuania and world economy tendencies. Research methods – historical, comparison analyses and synthesis of Lithuania and foreign science literature, banks finance documents, low, banks and other finance system participants activity documents, also there is used graph methods. In the master work is presented small banks and in the beginning of the work picked giant banks activity trends and finance indexes analyses, estimated fundamential elements which runs small banks activity, analyzed potential and tendencies of main prudential requirements pursuance. Market research results proclaim that small banks have successful and profitable activity in the niche which was picked by small banks, small banks increase market share gradually and that small banks follow conservative policy of main prudential requirements – capital adequacy and liquidity rates pursuance. The research results support hypothesis. Taking into account small banks strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analyses results small banks activity prospects in Lithuania market were presented. |
