This master thesis evaluates impact of a preliminary ruling of the European Court of Justice in the “Test Achats” case banning use of gender as an actuarial factor in the calculation of insurance premiums and benefits in the light of principle of freedom of contract, specific nature of life insurance contracts, as well as possible practical implications on the insurance market. |
