In the master‘s final paper work it is doing the assessment of current account imbalance impact on Lithuania‘s economy. In order to achieve this purpose it is doing the analysis of academic literature, which is related to the methodology of Balance of Payments, sustainability of current account imbalance, several structural parts of current account impact on country‘s economy, financing and reducing opportunities of CAD. In the analytical-research part it is using various methods of research and analyzing problems of this master‘s final paper work in Lithuania‘s case during the period of 1998-2012 and it is justifying solutions of these problems, which are related to financing and reducing opportunities of CAD. Also, there are partially confirming hypotheses of the research that current account imbalance in Lithuania is unsustainable, external trade imbalance has a negative impact on financial stability and net remittances determine economy‘s growth. |
