| Abstract [eng] |
This master’s thesis examines the integration of contemporary architecture into the natural environment and the pursuit of harmonizing the relationship between humans and nature. The research object is architecture as an intermediary between humans and nature, responding to the spirit of the place and the interaction between nature and culture. The thesis analyzes the philosophical and psychological aspects of the human–nature connection, the lessons of vernacular architecture, and theories grounded in biomimicry and nature-making principles. Based on these insights, a cultural and educational center in Karklė is designed, where architecture blends seamlessly with the coastal landscape, creates multifunctional spaces, and fosters the interaction of community, culture, and nature. The proposed building not only creates but also restores the bond between humans and nature, strengthening the sense of place while ensuring sustainability and ecological balance. |
